UPS電源不在配電箱里。UPS即不間斷電源，是將蓄電池，大多為鉛酸免維護(hù)蓄電池與主機(jī)相連接，通過主機(jī)逆變器等模塊電路將直流電轉(zhuǎn)換成市電的系統(tǒng)設(shè)備。
主要用于給單臺(tái)計(jì)算機(jī)、計(jì)算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)系統(tǒng)或其它電力電子設(shè)備如電磁閥、壓力變送器等提供穩(wěn)定、不間斷的電力供應(yīng)。
當(dāng)市電輸入正常時(shí)，UPS 將市電穩(wěn)壓后供應(yīng)給負(fù)載使用，此時(shí)的UPS就是一臺(tái)交流式電穩(wěn)壓器，同時(shí)它還向機(jī)內(nèi)電池充電；
當(dāng)市電中斷遇事故停電時(shí)， UPS 立即將電池的直流電能，通過逆變器切換轉(zhuǎn)換的方法向負(fù)載繼續(xù)供應(yīng)220V交流電，使負(fù)載維持正常工作并保護(hù)負(fù)載軟、硬件不受損壞。
UPS 設(shè)備通常對(duì)電壓過高或電壓過低都能提供保護(hù)。
